About St Mark's North Road

About St Mark's North Road

St Mark’s Church is a beautiful 140-year-old building located on North Road, looking over the centre of St Helens. We are a welcoming and dedicated community committed to widening our reach and engaging with our neighbours.

Alongside our traditional services, we run community activities like our Tots and Toddlers group and the St Mark’s Activities and Social Hub (SMASH) for people of varying ages.

We’re always looking to connect and support our local area.

What we believe

“We are a group of Church of England churches that follow Jesus and share his love with others. We believe in one God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—who made the world and wants everyone to know him.

We believe the Bible is God’s word. It helps us know who God is and how to live in a good and wise way. It speaks into every part of life—our families, friendships, work, money, and more.

We believe Jesus died and rose again to bring us back to God. Through him, we can be forgiven, find hope, and live with purpose.
We believe God’s Holy Spirit is with us today—helping us pray, changing us to be more like Jesus, and giving us strength to live for Him.

The Church is God’s family, and we are here to worship him, care for others, and grow in faith together. We celebrate baptism and communion as special gifts from God that help us remember his love, grow in faith, and follow Jesus more closely.

One day Jesus will return to make everything new. Until then, we want to follow him and help others do the same.”
